Buhari, King Mohammed talk on Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline, fertilizer plant

President Muhammadu Buhari and King Mohammed V1 of Morroco has resumed talks on the realisation of the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline and a fertilizer production plant, NewsSpecng has learnt.

The issue came up on Sunday during a telephone conversation, between President Buhari and King Mohammed, a presidential aide, Garba Shehu stated in a statement issued on Monday.

He said the two leaders used the conversion to discuss joint efforts towards realization of strategic development projects that included Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline and a fertilizer production plant.

Shehu said the Heads of State welcomed the positive and dynamic bilateral relations in all fields between the two nations since the King’s visit to Nigeria in December 2016, and President Buhari’s visit to Morocco in June 2018.

He said President Buhari and King Mohammed voiced determination to carry out, as soon as possible, the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline and construction of a fertilizer production plant in Nigeria.

The presidential aide said President Buhari, who spoke with His Majesty, the King of Morocco, from his country home in Daura, thanked the leader for support in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.

He added that the President also appreciated the Kingdom’s support in education through scholarships and training.
