The membership drive of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress is causing jittery in the camp of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), it was learnt.
Dr Tom Ohikere, an APC Chieftain and Media Consultant said the exercise has seriously discomfited PDP as millions of people have indicated their preference for the APC, as the party they can trust.
Ohikere in a statement said PDP is already stiff scared over the exercise which kicked off on Monday.
The statement reads: “Its no surprise that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is dancing a tango over the impending All Progressives Congress’ Revalidation and Membership Registration Exercise.
“That the party is discomfited and fretting is not a new thing, since millions have indicated their preference for the APC, the party they can trust.
“The PDP has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) “plans to write fictitious figures at the end of its national registration process”. Really?
“How can the PDP be talking of ghost electorates, when voting is in the flesh? It is apparent the PDP is scared that a strategy they’re used to, may be used against them.
“We submit that the PDP is gripped by the mortal fears that its members and undecided Nigerians would be absorbed in the APC during its ongoing national registration process. No more, no less. We say “Amen” to that.
“The opposition party through its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan also claimed that Nigerians have lost fate in the APC, blah, blah and blah!
“PDP might be shocked what the result of a popularity contest between the two parties may be should such be activated even now. Nigerians are truly fed up with thieves.”
