Quit order: Akeredolu, South-West govs meet Miyetti Allah Monday

Strong indication emerged at the weekend that the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association has reached out to the South West governors to avert the implementation of the quit order issued to herders in Ondo state forest reserves.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu had last week ordered that the herdsmen should vacate all the forest reserves in the state.

He also banned under-aged grazing, night grazing, and movement of cattle along the highways and within the cities in the state.

With the ultimatum expiring on Sunday, it was learnt that the national leadership of the group has reached out to the Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu ans other South West governors.

The meeting which was learnt will hold on Monday, will take place in Akure, Ondo State.

At the time of filling thia report, it was not clear how many of the governors will be in attendance.

The meeting is expected to find a lasting solution to the herders/ farmers crisis.
