A marriage of over thirteen (13) years with three children is at the edge of breaking up, as wife cried out that her life and peace of mind is been threatened.
This is the case of Ahmed Khadijat a divorce seeking wife who is seeking the help of the court to severe her marraige to Abdulraham Ahmed.
Khadijat dragged her husband to the Upper Area Court, Kubwa, Abuja on the ground of threat to life, lack of peace and care towards her kids from her husband.
Khadijat told the court that her husband abuses her physically and emotionally.
“He beats me, insults me and he even said he will do anything to me and no one know about it,” she told the court on Tuesday.
She further stated that despite enduring all his abnormalities, Ahmed sent her packing from the house on October 17th, 2020.
“He sent me out of his house for 3 months now. He said I should leave his life,” she said.
Ahmed on his own part denied the claims stating that his wife has known him even before they got married as he still insists that he loves her dearly.
Ahmed said “in as much as we quarrel as husband and wife, we still settle the issues amicably. So I am very surprised that she said I don’t take care of my kids or I threaten her.
“Our first child is 13 years old and I started paying her fees since when she was 2 years old. I can swear that she has never paid the children’s school fees.
Ahmed told the court that since his wife and kids left his house, he doesn’t know their current residence.
After listening to both parties, the presiding judge, Hon. Bashir Danmaisule adviced both couples to have a rethink about their actions as he adjourned the case till February 2nd, 2021.
