Zambian first President, Kenneth Kaunda is not dead contrary to social media report, the country’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Salomon S. Jere, said.
Amb.Jere said Zambian founding president is still much alive and therefore urged Zambians in Nigeria and other countries to discountenance such news.
The ambassaddor refuted the report on Wednesday while briefing Journalists in Abuja.
He said, “The office of the High Commissioner wishes to refutes social media reports alleging that Dr. Kenneth Kaunda has died. We would like to inform all Zambians resident in West Africa and the international community at large that Zambia’s founding president is still very much alive. Dr. Kenneth Kaunda is fine and in good spirit.
“We urge everybody to ignore the contemptible rumours circulating on social media.”
He also added that the former president will be celebrated on April 28 2021 when he turns 97.
