Peace in Osun state has come under threat following the death of a food vendor in the Ibodi community in Atakumonsa West Local Government Area of Osun State .
Already youth from the area are not taking the issue lightly as they mobilized to attack the sitr where her dead body was found.
The Nation food seller identified as Wumi Babatope was said to have hawked food to Afon village on Monday and did not return home.
After waiting in vain for her return, the husband of the decease raised alarm which led to the set up of a search party by some members of the community. Then came the fear of the husband after hours of searching, the corpse of the food seller was found at a mining site naked.
The youths suspected that the miners raped her to death and left her body at the scene of the crime. Hence the youths in the community then armed themselves with weapons attempting to attack the miners in the area for allegedly involved in the death of the food seller.
But for the intervention of the police who were quickly deployed to the site to prevent breakdown of law and order. The police, it was also learnt has set in motion alternative dispute resolution mechanism to resolve the issue.
